“A little woolly magic.”

Years ago, we knitted mammoth woolly wreaths using loop stitch for our shop holiday display. They were such fun, we created a pattern for a home-sized version—a cozy accent all winter long! The wreaths are nice hung singly or in pairs, indoors or out (protect from inclement weather). The little garland is charming wrapped around your tree, over the mantle, down the bannister, or anywhere you’d like a little woolly magic. We’ve even been known to wear it!

For the Woolly Wreath & Garland, we used Fleece Artist Slubby Mix—a clever yarn that’s thick, thin, and everything in between! With the rustic appeal of a hand-spun yarn, Slubby Mix is a half-and-half blend of Blue Faced Leicester and merino wool. Because the locks have an extra long staple, it can be spun very softly and still hold together—perfect for the loopy stitch of our Woolly Wreaths.

FINISHED SIZES
Small wreath: Approx. 14"/36cm finished diameter on 12"/30cm wreath form.
Large wreath: Approx. 20"/51cm finished diameter on 18"/46cm wreath form.
Garland: Approx. 4 yds/3.5m of length, per 110 yd/100m skein.

YARN
Small wreath: 2 skeins Fleece Artist Slubby Mix (110 yds/100m each), yarn held double throughout. Shown in color Natural and Christmas Red.
Large wreath: 4 skeins Fleece Artist Slubby Mix (110 yds/100m each), yarn held double throughout.
Garland or 8" Wreath: 1 skein Fleece Artist Slubby Mix (110 yds/100m each).

NEEDLES
Wreaths: US 15 (10mm) needles (straights recommended).
Garland: US 11 (8mm) double-point needles (two only).

NOTIONS
Wreaths: 12 (18)"/30 (46)cm boxed wire wreath form.
Optional: 3 (4) yds/m of 4"/10cm strips of muslin fabric.
Blunt darning needle to finish.

KNITTER'S NOTES
The pattern includes instructions for the 12" and 18" wreath sizes and the garland. Same needle size and cast on stitches for all wreaths, you're simply knitting varying lengths!
