The Design

“Sweet sweaters for the whole family!”

The structure of a raglan sweater is all about simple efficiency! Knit from the top down, this sweater style is designed with minimal flourishes so the yarn can take center stage. This pattern booklet includes three patterns: Basic Raglan by Joji Locatelli, Kid Raglan by Amy Gunderson, and Baby Raglan by Amy Gunderson.

All three of these patterns were knit in Madelinetosh’s DK-weight Wool + Cotton. This blend of 50% superwash merino wool and 50% cotton (both ethically sourced in Peru) is a great choice for its year ‘round, easy-care aptitude.

Kid Raglan: 4 (6, 8, 10, 12, 14) years. Finished chest circumference: 24½ (27½, 29, 32, 33½, 36½)"/ 62 (70, 73.5, 81, 85, 92)cm.
Basic Raglan: XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL). Recommended ease: about 2 of positive ease. Finished chest circumference: 29½ (34, 38, 42, 45½, 50½, 54, 58, 62, 66)"/ 75 (86, 96.5, 107, 115.5, 128, 137, 147, 157.5, 168)cm.

YARN
Madelinetosh Wool + Cotton (219 yds/200m each).
Baby Raglan: 1 (2, 2) skeins for short sleeves; 2 (2, 3) skeins for long sleeves.
Kid Raglan: 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4) skeins for short sleeves; 3 (3, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins for long sleeves.
Basic Raglan: 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) skeins.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Baby & Kid Raglan: US 6 (4mm) 16"/ 40cm circular needle and set of dpns, or size to obtain gauge.
US 4 (3.5mm) set of dpns, or two sizes smaller than gauge needle.
Basic Raglan: US 6 (4mm) and US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles, at least 24"/60cm long, or size needed to obtain gauge.
All: Stitch markers, removeable stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
Baby & Kid Raglan: 21 sts/28 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch using gauge needle.
Basic Raglan: 21 sts/32 rnd to 4"/ 10cm in Stockinette St on gauge needles.
