“Little heartfelt crafts.”

Inspired by our Churchmouse At Home Felted Gingerbread Ornaments pattern, we made these little felted hearts for a wee, heartfelt gift! The knitting is as easy as pie—easier actually! Once your knitted piece is fully felted, simply use the included templates (or trace your own favorite shapes—we like to use cookie cutters) to cut out jolly shapes. Decorate as desired—embroidery instructions are included in the pattern. Once you’ve given them your personal touch, hang these hearts on gifts, slip them into an envelope to send a friend, string them on a garland—you get the idea!

We’ve found that Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted is an excellent choice for our Felted Hearts. A sleeper favorite, this worsted-weight blend of wool and mohair is sturdy, cushy, magnificently felt-able, and has a great color palette.

FINISHED SIZE
Before felting: Approx. 26"/66cm around x 8½"/22cm high.
After felting and cutting open: Approx. 22"/56cm around x 5½"/14cm high.

YARN
1 skein Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted (190 yds/174m each); Or approx. 190 yds/174m of an equivalent feltable worsted-weight yarn (Or approx. 95 yds/87m of an equivalent feltable bulky-weight yarn, held single).

Shown in colors 85 Antique Mauve and 145 Spice.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 13 (9mm) 16—24"/40—60cm circular needle, or size to obtain gauge.
Stitch marker.
Optional: Buttons and thread for decorating.

GAUGE
Approx. 11 sts = 4"/10cm with yarn held double, before felting. Gauge should be invisible after felting.
