“A sweet twist to a holiday favorite.”

Our Basic Christmas Stockings have a simple, familiar shape—which gives us plenty of space to play around with fun stripes and patterns! We’ve created a free adaptation to our original pattern to add swirly, two-color stripes to the length and foot of the stocking. With a cheery, contrasting cuff, heel, and toe to finish, this stocking is as sweet as a candy cane!

We picked classic, peppermint-y colors of worsted-weight Berroco Lanas for this version of our Basic Christmas Stocking. Made of 100% Pure Wool—a special blend of South American wools—Lanas is a soft and cozy workhorse. It’s a go-to choice for sturdy, woolly pieces that we want to last and last. Plus, each of its deeply saturated colors has a beautiful, gentle luster.

FINISHED SIZE
Medium: Approx. 8"/20cm across and 26"/66cm long.

YARN
3 skeins of Berroco Lanas (219 yds/200m each): 2 skeins in Color A and 1 skein in Color B.

Note: Lanas is no longer stocked. We suggest Berroco Ultra Wool (219 yds/200m each) in Color A 3350 Chili and Color B 3301 Cream.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 7 (4.5mm) 16"/40cm circular needle and double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge in plain stockinette.
US 8 (5mm) 16"/40cm circular needle, or larger if needed to obtain gauge in colorwork (leg and foot only).

GAUGE
Approx. 20 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch and colorwork stitch in the round.
Note: It’s important to swatch both stockinette and colorwork in the round—you may need to go up more than one needle size for the colorwork portion.
