Meet Quarry, big brother to Shelter and Loft, and the third member of the Brooklyn Tweed yarn family. When Brooklyn Tweed set out to create Quarry, they had in mind a chunky-weight wool inspired by roving-style yarns: light and lofty, but with a little more strength and stitch definition. At first glance it looks like a singles yarn, and appears fairly substantial in the skein. But in the hand, it's surprisingly light, soft, and almost feels felted. Three unspun plies are twisted together adding structural integrity and giving the unique look of unspun fiber. Splicing has never been so easy. Quarry is perfect for chunky cables, bold garments and quick knit accessories. Sheep from Wyoming, milled in New England, 100% American made from beginning to end.

Ten heathered shades, named for minerals and gemstones, will look familiar to those who know Shelter and Loft. These colors will coordinate beautifully with any Brooklyn Tweed pieces in your wardrobe all ready.

Quarry sometimes wants to twirl between the ball and your needles – that’s okay! Run your fingers gently along the working yarn toward the ball if the twizzle is interfering with the knitting. This will not impact the finished fabric. Softens nicely after hand washing.
